If you have been issued a parking ticket and you wish to informally contest the ticket, you must first speak with the issuing officer. Only after speaking with the issuing officer may you request to speak with a supervisor. If you would like to formally contest the ticket, that needs to be done through the St. Croix County Circuit Court Process. To contest the ticket, please notify our office staff so that the process may start.

 

All contested tickets are processed through Circuit Court and are required to include all court cost associated with the violation. The defendant is required to pay these costs if they are found guilty of the violation. When you contest the original parking ticket, it will be dismissed, and a State of Wisconsin Non-Traffic Citation will be issued in its place.

 

The fine amounts are set by the State of Wisconsin and the North Hudson Police Department has no control over them.

 

General parking violations range from $200.50 to $389.50

Handicap parking violations range from $326.50 to $490.50

 

The newly issued non-traffic citation will assign an initial court date where you may appear to plead not guilty. Information on how to contact the Village Prosecutor to discuss the matter will then be provided by the Clerk of Court. Please be advised that since you contested the original parking ticket, the newly issued citation will not be dismissed. The matter will then be set for a court trial.
