At the September Board of Trustees meeting, the Board approved two new amendments to the Village’s ordinances related to parking regulations. These updates originated from the Public Safety Committee and have been added to Section 90-7: Parking Limits of the Village Code.
The approved additions are as follows:
(c) Unattached Trailer Prohibited
Unless authorized by the Police Department or Public Works Department, no person may stop, stand, or park any trailer unattached to a vehicle by which it may be propelled or drawn, except to stop temporarily for the purpose of and while actually engaged in loading or unloading.
(d) Mailbox Obstructions Prohibited
There shall be no parking of vehicles or placing of any other obstructions, such as snow, trash containers, etc.) within 8 feet of either side of a United States mailbox for the period of Monday through Saturday. This applies to all United States mail receptacles, including neighborhood delivery and collection box units.
Please note: While the formal update of the ordinances online is in progress, these changes are effective immediately. We appreciate your cooperation as we work to ensure safe and accessible streets for all residents.
